Knitting this week

Whilst camping this weekend we had the most perfect knitting weather. The days were lovely and warm, but the evenings and mornings were quite cool which spurred me on to start some knitting. Fortunately I had come prepared with my favourite pattern and some yarn. I am knitting a jacket for granddaughter. It is an old favourite from Patons and is knitted from jacket edge to jacket edge in one piece.

This is the jacket as blogger wants you to see it! (As pictured in the Patons knitting book)

And this photo shows my current progress. One front, one sleeve and partway through the back. I have knitted this jacket many times over the years. It is just garter stitch and very simple to do. I am enjoying it immensely!

Shouldn't you be working on your pies and tarts??? I am a wannabe knitter...i think I should be able to ...and I want to....then when I start I add / take stitches and end up throwing it in the cupboard! Your knitting on the other hand looks lovely....sounds like your weekend was fun...!

This jacket looks great, granddaughter is lucky with a grandmother like you ;-).

Very cute. You know you are a Grandma when you pick up the needles. Like Lorraine I have a knitter inside yearning to be unleashed, but no matter how I try when I knit my elbows are somewhere up around my ears - I am a total gumby!

I love that baby jacket, don't know how many times I knitted it when my kids were little. So easy to make.

Snap! We have the same knitting bag. I have never knitted baby clothes as my Mum is so much better than me at this. Now Sophie prefers fleece tops but loves knitted bags.
