Duelling Machines

This post was inspired by Miss Mary's post over at White Clover Stitches. Read it here.

So today we have had duelling sewing machines here. That's because we are sewing two shaggy flannel quilts. A manly one. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

and a girly one . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Yep, Mr 15 and I are sewing quilts together. (He is beating me!) He is making the "manly" quilt for himself and I am making the "girly" quilt just to be companionable. Mr 15 is a great sewer, but hasn't made a quilt before so I thought making a quilt alongside him would be a good way to show him what to do. Of course, he isn't just making a quilt. He is also playing his favourite online game at the same time. (Talk about talent!) What have you been doing today?

My son likes to help occasionally, he's even been known to design his own quilt, but I don't think he'll ever consent to make the whole thing himself.

Oh....what did I do today? Went to work...just for something different...and someone (who shall remain nameless) made yet another visit to the Patchwork Apple as well as playing around making quilts! What colour green am I?

Mr 15 you are amazing and will make a fantastic husband one day. Look forward to seeing the finished quilts...soon!

He must be talented, playing an online game at the same time as sewing. Sometimes I find it hard enough to keep sewing a straight line.

I think it's great that he's keen to sew. My nephew was given a sewing machine for Xmas a few years back while his sister can't sew for nuts! He managed to alter and mend his own jeans and sold a few gear bags to fellow workers. By the way Kris, I love your pies and tarts - stunning!

When Kellie was sewing her doll she had trouble and Ryan heard her ask for help so he was explaining to her how to work the machine. Mark was like...How do you know what to do? And Ryan explained that he knew all about sewing machines since his class in school when he made a giant football pillow. I sure do like a guy who can sew! Good for Mr 15!
