Dinner last night.

A pot of stock bubbling along on the stove makes your house smell wonderful. Yesterday I had bacon bones boiling to create my famous bacon and vegetable soup. It turned out to be lovely soup. I used bacon bones, carrot, celery, onion, and water to make the stock. Drain. Then put sweet potato, potato, carrot, zucchini and broccoli into the stock and cook till tender. Then zshush. Yum. My Bradley helped me prepare the vegetables and then had a great idea. Scones to go with it. I wasn't too keen until I worked out that he meant to make them. They were delicious and every kid demanded an encore! So hopefully he will be making some scones tonight to go with some jam and cream we just happen to have.

That looks absolutely delicious. I have to make scones next week for THE BIG MORNING TEA to raise funds for cancer. Working is having a morning tea. I'm making drop scones / pikelets as well. Both with Jam and cream ... yummy !!!

Sounds like a perfect cold weather dinner to me. (Scones always taste so much better when someone else makes them !)

Im amazed by how fast it got so cold! All I want to do is eat casseroles and other warm comfort food.

PS If Bradley is making scones again let me know - I can be there in 9 hours!

Yum, I made a second batch of Pea and Ham soup last week. Delish! But I find with all those peas, I need to ration myself with it otherwise the consequences are explosive... if you know what I mean (blushing)! And scones... are they not the most perfect thing anyone can quickly knock up - lending themselves to sweet and savoury palates. Guess what I will make Bri this arvo when she gets home from school?

Cheers - Joolz

It certainly has turned to soup weather. I very rarely cook scones if I cook them I eat them perhaps that is why!!!!!!
