Today I basted two tiny quilts. My drunkard's path pot holders morphed into a table topper for my new table. (I put the first block on the new table to show my Bradley and suddenly knew that the pot holders should become a 16" x 16" table topper.) And I finally basted my Rainbow Road from earlier this month. The DP table topper got quilted and I may yet get the Rainbow Road quilted tonight. Maybe.
I also baked a treacle gingerbread cake with lemon icing which was delicious and munched on by all. I made a double batch of course, which got me thinking. Does everyone else immediately make a double batch? Or is this just my reality? A hangover from living in a house with ten people? I'd be most interested to hear your double batch or not stories!

Ummm no I dont usually make double batches but at times I do and freeze the rest. It is not often I cook things beyound meals... Really to avoid it on my hips... I do however love buying home made goodness from the local CWA shop so ha ha I make up for it!!!
I usually double batch freezable meals but not cake. It took me forever to remember Im only cooking for two not four or five when everyone finally moved out.
I use to do double batches when my kids all lived at home...and all there friends hung around and ate with us too. Now, I am always freezing 1/2 of most meals, even when I think I have cut down my recipes.
As there are just the two of us I usually halve the recipe, so I'm doing the opposite :)

being solo I have to make less rather than more but at Christmas when I make biscuits and the like I automatically double the mix or plan on making at least two batches of everything...
