New Shelves

It is 6pm and I am so tired! We have afternoon meetings (church) from 1pm-4pm this year and I don't think I'm used to it yet! Today I taught Relief Society. We had a lesson based on President Thomas S. Monson's wonderful talk "Finding Joy in the Journey". Sometimes enjoying the journey is hard. I often think, "Everything will be better when.......", instead of enjoying where I am! President Monson counsels us to choose to do the most important things, show our love to family and friends, and be grateful for what we have in order to enjoy the journey. So, here I am, enjoying the journey! We are still changing rooms. (Stop laughing!) It's a big job. We have moved our bed into the former boy's room and also the sewing studio. Mr 20 has gone from the boy's room into the former sewing studio. Mr 14 and Mr 8 have moved into our former room and the office (my Bradley works from home) has moved into the dining room from our former room. Of course, this means that we have to pack away the large dining table and get out the medium dining table. You know, the domino effect. This photo shows my new sewing shelves. I'm still organising the sewing area, but hopefully everything will be good by Tuesday. (The day school starts!) Have a great week!

Well I'm exhausted just reading your post.....by the way your lesson was great today....loved it. I love that talk by Thomas S. Monson and I didn't realise we were talking about that today and read it a couple of days ago. Sounds like you are playing musical rooms in your house...what fun.

....good luck with the house re-shuffle....I am hoping you won't get finished and then realise you have left one of the kids out!....it's like one of those puzzles where you keep shifting the tiles to get them in the right order.....! Great words about enjoying the journey....couldn't have come at a better time for me...always looking ahead and trying to organise things (well I have to do that - it's my job) but I must must remember to enjoy the journey instead of just looking at everything way ahead.....thank you!!! a timely reminder!

I am exhausted just reading about all that moving and I wasn't even there. I agree we should all stop and smell the roses along the way.

It is certainly good to be reminded of what is really important. Your house sounds like a fun place to be!! Good luck with all the rearranging!

I can just imagine the happy chaos at your house with all this changing around! These are the things that you look back on with fond memories one day.

isn't it amazing how when you think about re-arranging rooms, it all seems so easy in your head and then when you acutally do it....... normally i go half mad in between thinking i'll never get it done. but i do. goodluck - and goodluck to all your kids starting school next week.

Thanks for the info on the Monson article...daug. V is going thru a break up, and I think she needs to remember the journey and not just the end results
I love rearranging...we did some of that at the first of month

Ugh! What a job you are doing! Yikes. That sounds like a lot of work! I would be exhausted too.
