Happy Easter at the Zoo!

We went to the Adelaide Zoo today for a picnic and to see some of our favourite animals. We have zoo membership which gives us free entry to the zoo for a year. Our zoo is beautiful and a really lovely place to picnic! We met up with Mrs 24, grandson and his Dad.

We had sandwiches and banana and gingerbread cake. (Sounds weird, but is delicious!) We all enjoyed lunch immensely because every snaplock bag had a message written by Miss 16 on it. Like......... egg and lettuce eewwwwww ............. delicious PB & J because I made it AND I didn't spit in it ................ Mum's eewwwwww. (Hey, mine was just corned beef and mustard pickle, it's not hard to get an eewwwwww rating from Miss 16!)

So we ate, we looked at some animals, and then we went home. All in all a pretty fun day. Hope you are all having as lovely an easter as I am having!

Our Picnic

I forgot that I had actually remembered to take my camera with me on the picnic. (Wonders will never cease!) I couldn't resist posting them because I wanted to remember the lovely afternoon we had together.

Mr 8, Mrs 24, grandson and Mr 14 were on the rug. Grandson had his favourite toys with him. They follow a theme. "Babies". Babies just love babies!

In this photo you can see grandson with a mirror. He loves to look at himself. He loves to look at babies!

He spent quite a while playing with his uncles. He ate lunch. The uncles ran around. And then they all went to check out a glass house.

Happy Birthday Tim-in-law!

Miss 11 was the photographer on Saturday afternoon at Picklesticks' bloke's birthday picnic. These photos are her view from the picnic rug. It was a beautiful day. Warm, but it never feels too warm under the trees at Tusmore Park. The energetic played cricket. And had a wonderful time! The ball only went over the fence once (the perfect "backyard" cricket game!). They also played frizbee. The not quite as athletic ones sat and knitted and crotcheted. Rugs for the forthcoming Picklesticks baby grew a little more. The sci-fi inclined "talked Dr Who". All in all the perfect birthday picnic. Today is the "actual" birthday. Happy Birthday Tim!

Yesterday at the Park

We decided to go for a picnic yesterday afternoon. We went to one of our favourite parks, The Gums. (Okay, we love them all!) The weather has decided to be reasonable for a couple of days (26 degrees celcius!) so we thought we would get out in it! It was a beautiful day. We ate lunch (sandwiches we had made before we left) and then the kids played, listened to music, and took photos, depending on their age! Bradley and I watched them and joined in, and I knitted too. I'm still working on that baby singlet. I'm not a very fast knitter!

It was so shady and wonderful at the Gums! This week I want to sew and knit and get more organised. I see so many people getting organised as I surf the net at the moment. It is so inspiring! Hopefully there will be more crafty posts this week!
