... a week ago now. We came home a little early because our stuff (furniture and things) arrived in Melbourne. There was much excitement (I now have more than two pairs of shoes!) and we figured that my Bradley would need some help to unload the stuff. (And he did because he hurt his back three days before the stuff arrived.) Mr 17 stayed in Adelaide to hang out with his friends and Miss 25 travelled there the day after we arrived home to help that 9 months (and counting!) pregnant
picklesticks. (
Still waiting for that little girl to arrive!) So the stuff moving was down to me (on the left, and then clockwise), my Bradley, Mr 10, and Miss 14.

Our feet.
Sad to report that Mr 10 is now wearing a men's size 10 shoe. Shocking, isn't it? No longer can I say, "Act your age, not your shoe size!" because they are the same. Our two older boys have BIG feet so I guess Mr 10 will go that way too. |
Last Thursday lunchtime the first POD arrived. (Portable On Demand storage) And then a second on Friday. And a third on Saturday. (Yes, a
lot of stuff!)
|
This gantry contraption takes the POD off of the truck and delivers it wherever you want it. |

Mr 10 at the unveiling |
It was a pretty full on three days. And of course, it hasn't stopped since. Lots of unpacking, furniture building and rearranging to do! One thing that has kept up our spirits has been the messages Miss 19 wrote back in January when she helped us pack. The one below is quite tame. There was one that read "I'll give you $10 if you can guess what's in this box!" (Mr 10 is still trying to claim that one!)

A message from Miss 19, who helped us pack, but didn't move with us. |
And this is what our family room looked like after the pods were emptied. Yep. Lots to do. I may never sew again!

Just a tiny walkway was left! |

Looks like a big job, but you have an incentive, you need to find your sewing stuff so you can sew again :)
You must be thrilled to have "stuff" again. I dont know how you've managed to camp out for so long without going crazy.
Have fun unpacking thoe boxes. It'll be like discovering treasure every time you open a new box!
Love Miss 19's messages.
Moving house is the BEST time to have a major cleanout, to purge, donate or put into storage is what I am about to face, again. Yay on 'your stuff' arriving, think of all the fun you will have finding everything. Just let someone else unpack the photo abums, I was sidetracked for hours when I found ours after our last move.
eeek that just reminded me of how much i loathe moving :( it's to clear and re-arrange but all that unpacking. I still have boxes here (stashed away) that I haven't unpacked in 3 years. Moving again in December for a short hiatus with Mum & Dad whilst saving for a house. Hope all goes well with that unpacking and you get to stitch soon!
PS I wear a size 6 so very small feet, I probably still act my shoe size :P
YAY all your OWN stuff.
Lots of suprises.
TAke your time. You have managed for a while with out!
Oh my Kris, what a lot of stuff...bet you will have it away in no time...then to sew and sew...
About those feet...my DS has size 16 feet...so long and is 6ft4" to match... now sometimes he acts his shoe size not his age... he's almost 20...LOL
Hugs Dawn x x x
I told my family I am not moving again...too much work! Good luck with the unpacking and sorting!
One exciting thing about moving is that you find things that you forgot that you had and it's exciting all over again. Have fun unpacking !! Hope that little baby girl comes into this world soon, her mum must be very tired by now.
Welcome back to Victoria...how exciting for you all to get your stuff...it's always nice to have more than two pairs of shoes to choose from...
So, your boy found the Lego, right? He looks so happy! Hmmm. All the photos before you got your stuff showed your new house as quite large... now I'm not so sure!
Love the creative labelling! Enjoy having all your things around - it really makes new places feel more homely!
