Moon

The moon last night was beautiful. It was big and yellow and not at all how my photo shows it. I am fascinated by photos taken in low light. I am fascinated by the way light affects colour. Our eyes are pretty amazing. We actually see in low light really well. Our eyes perform much better in low light than cameras do. I am fascinated by light and colour in general. It is one of the reasons I am so interested in patchwork and quilting. It also manifests itself when you draw or paint. You know how people often talk about how evocative smells are, well for me light is the same. That quality of light that would happen when I lived in Brisbane at the end of a warm day, just before a thunderstorm erupts. Occassionally I have seen that light here in Adelaide, but it feels so Brisbane to me. I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'm really hoping to stitch!

I noticed how beautiful the full moon looked here in England a few nights ago, it was glowing orange.
We may live on opposite sides of the world but we still look up at the same moon.

Oh I know what you mean Kris we have had a couple of 'summer storm' light days here recently, looking at the light I would swear it was a balmy day out, skies about to erupt with Rain ... but not it is really cold, and the freezing wind picks up and the rain is icy! LOL.

Have a nice weekend.

I also have attempted to take photos of a beautiful full moon, and have been extremely disappointed, but when I re-visit the photo, the original sighting returns in full detail, so that keeps me happy. I love the photo of the flowering tree lower down the page, it is beautiful.

Hi Kris

I've also done a post on the moon. We had this huge moon back in the first week of July. It was hanging so low. Check it out.

I am curious - are you still near Rosemary Hill?

Cheers - Joolz

The moon has been amazing the last few night. Cold cloudless night help.

The moon has been beautiful lately, I find the best light for taking pictures is in the early morning or early evening, not as harsh as the middle of the day.
