This is the redwork that resulted from my drawing
here. I had a lovely time making it! It was lovely to work on because it is so textured and feels wonderful. This kind of stitching is very much like painting with needle and thread to me. I love to paint and draw too. I want to design more, I also want to paint more too. Goals for 2009! See how I go!
ooo, I love the texture. Very cool. What kind of fabric did you use for the red border? It looks live velvet and satin. Very pretty.

ReplyDeleteLove this redwork. You are so clever, first to design the piece then work it so beautifully. A real treasure.
Enviously,

Wow, your stitching work looks so involved, are they all french knots? There's no way I could sit and do that many!!! Well done, I love it.
ReplyDeleteA lovely cushion Kris. You are so talented. x
ReplyDeleteWonderful design and great stitching!
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning! I love the design, Is the main flower a warrattah? I think I see some bottle brush behind it too. You are super clever :) Your description of painting with thread sounds very inspiring to me.
